Roland Mosimann
Co-Founder, Board Member

In 1995, Roland founded Aline with Dr. Richard Connelly with the goal of developing key business solutions for national and international leaders across the globe. He leads the company’s current focus to develop and deliver Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) solutions targeted to meet the increasing demands for transparency and oversight from Boards of Directors, regulators and rating agencies, such as Standard and Poor's.

Prior to co-founding Aline, Roland was a member of the Executive Board of the World Economic Forum in Geneva, Switzerland. Before that, he was a consultant with McKinsey & Company in Zurich.

Roland co-authored “The Multidimensional Manager: 24 Ways to Impact Your Bottom Line in 90 Days,” as well as a series of books, called “The Performance Manager: Proven Strategies for Turning Information into Higher Business Performance”. These books address Performance Management for Banking, Insurance, Retail, Life Sciences and Government.

Roland holds a Master’s of Business Administration for The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from The London School of Economics.
 

Dr. Richard Connelly
Co-Founder, Chairman of the Board

In addition to his leadership role at Aline, Dr. Connelly (Doc) focuses on driving high-value advisory services for the design and development of risk and performance management business intelligence systems, most notably with the Bank of New York. There, he helps guide the strategic application of Business Intelligence by extracting risk analysis information from daily securities transactions, and channeling key controls information to the desktops of responsible managers around the world.

Doc’s career includes over 25 years of experience in planning and organizing business operations. Prior to Aline, he was Senior Vice President of the Hay Group, responsible for leading the firm's strategy implementation consulting practice in the financial services industry sector. This included merger and acquisition implementation for banks, thrift institutions, and insurance companies.

Before the Hay Group, Doc served at CIGNA/INA. There, he was INA Corporate Director for Organization Planning/Management Development and Vice President of Planning for CIGNA's Wholesale Insurance Group. He was responsible for wholesale insurance business strategic planning, which included streamlining special risk, excess and surplus, and group insurance relationships with major global and national corporate relationships.

Prior to that, he served as Group Executive for Human Resources in the Operations/Data Processing Division of Chase Manhattan Bank. His responsibilities included planning and implementing organization change to accommodate the introduction of new services and new computer systems that re-defined the conduct of commercial banking.

Doc holds a Doctorate in Organizational Communications and Management Information Systems from Michigan State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from the University of Notre Dame.

Richard Binswanger
Executive Vice President, Board Member

As Senior VP of Business Development, Richard drives the company’s strategic direction, consulting practice and partner programs. He works extensively with clients to help them reach compliance and is the author of numerous articles and whitepapers on GRC Best Practices.

Richard previously served as CIO for Binswanger Company, a $55 million real estate management company. Prior to that, he had a 23-year education career at various learning institutions in Pennsylvania. As President of The Learning Greenhouse, a consulting company for integrating technology into the classroom, he championed helping children with learning disabilities.

Richard has served on the Board of Directors of The United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania and is currently on their Community Impact Committee, is Chairman of the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness, and is founder of the Creative Greenhouse, a non-profit organization dedicated to support of creative thinking.

Richard has completed extensive Doctorate work at the University Of Pennsylvania Graduate School Of Education and holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Villanova University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Brown University.

Dominic Varillo
Senior Vice President, Product Development

As Senior VP, Dominic is the technology lead has been responsible for every aspect of architecting and developing the current Aline Solution Suite. He has also developed other Aline products, including DecisionSpeed, a tool for Performance Management assessment and requirements design; the Enterprise Information Management System (EIMS), a comprehensive metadata repository for managing information technology and Business Intelligence reporting; and the Business Intelligence University (BIU), a business simulation engine. In addition, Dominic takes the technical lead on Aline’s consulting projects.

Prior to joining Aline, Dominic was a Senior Programmer at Johnson & Higgins, where he was responsible for new development and maintenance of the firm’s Time Management and Billing System. Prior to J&H, he developed applications to enhance the budgeting process and financial system reporting capabilities at the Law School Admission Council and Pep Boys.

Dominic holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from The Pennsylvania State University.

Justin Craig
Vice President, Client Services

As VP of Product Management and Client Services, Justin is responsible for product management for all Aline solutions and works directly with current and prospective clients on technical and functional issues. With his Internal Audit background, he also develops custom compliance analytics for Aline clients to support optimization of control frameworks.

Prior to Aline, Justin played a key role in Avaya’s Sarbanes-Oxley program management office, directing the company’s SOX program for payroll, human resources, financial reporting, and treasury processes. Previously, he held several executive positions at AT&T, including Business Controls Manager, Acting Chief Financial Officer for AT&T Easylink Services in Sydney, Australia, and Controller and Financial Analyst.

Justin holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting from University of West Sydney in Hawkesbury, Australia. He currently is pursuing an MBA from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

David G. Zach
Vice President, Sales

As Vice President of Sales, Dave directs and manages the business development and telesales effort for Aline. In this capacity, he has been instrumental in doubling sales for Aline’s GRC suite for the past two years, closing major accounts throughout the U.S and Canada.

Prior to joining Aline, Dave headed national on-demand sales and channel development for Astea International, where he helped launch the company’s on-demand enterprise field service and mobility software. Prior to Astea, Dave spent five years with Corporation Service Company as a Regional Market Manager and one year launching Ledgent, an on-demand accounting portal and Business Process Outsourcer. 

Dave has over twenty years of sales experience in manufacturing, business products, human resources, legal services and Internet based technology. Dave holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from The Pennsylvania State University.

Christopher D. Coigne, CPA, CFF, CIA, CFE
Senior Manager, Client Services

As a Senior Manager, Chris is responsible for product delivery, consulting services, and customer support for the company’s clients.

Chris has 25 years of public accounting, controllership, internal audit management, and consulting experience with a variety of global organizations including ARAMARK, McDonald’s, Sony, ING, and Waste Management..

Chris has worked extensively with organizations in their Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) programs, helping them to reduce their efforts while still ensuring compliance. Other projects have included managing outsourced Internal Audit activities, performing forensic and fraud investigations to aid in management’s deterrence and detection of fraud. 

Chris also works with the AICPA as a discussion leader on the topics of risk management, internal audit and control, fraud, and SOX.

Chris is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor and Certified Fraud Examiner. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Accounting from Rowan University.

Jack L. Musgrove, CMC, CGEIT,
Vice President, IT Governance and Professional Services

As a Vice President, Jack has provided direction for the expansion of the Aline suite into IT Governance. As an expert in Performance Management, he also supports product delivery for the sales force and consulting channel.  Jack’s experience include Big Eight Consulting with proficiencies in IT Strategy, IT Governance and Business Process Analysis.

Prior to joining Aline, Jack led the professional services practice for GL Trade (formerly FNX Ltd.) and was responsible for the company’s worldwide consulting group. He was founder and principal of The Systems Team, Inc., a privately held IT consulting firm with major projects at Bear Creek Corporation, Visa International, Wells Fargo Bank and Sophelle. His consulting experience includes Coopers & Lybrand, Price Waterhouse, and Arthur Young & Co.

Jack holds a BBA in Business Statistics from University of Texas and has completed graduate work from The Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania. His is also a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and Certified in Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT).

William J. Carpenter, CPA, CFE
Senior Manager, Client Services

As a Senior Manager, Bill is the lead for Aline’s ERM Banking Solutions, responsible for product delivery, consulting services, and customer support for the company’s banking clients. He helped develop Aline’s Fastrack offering, which gives companies a self-sustaining, repeatable enterprise risk assessment framework and methodology within four weeks.

Prior to Aline, Bill held several executive roles managing internal audit organizations at JP Morgan Chase, KeyBank, Citibank and De Lage Landen. His audit work includes internal control, risk management, financial and other corporate governance practice reviews, forensic accounting, fraud prevention, anti-money laundering practice leadership, and Sarbanes-Oxley and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Act (FDICA) readiness/oversight.

Bill is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner. He is a member of the American Society of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He also was a founding member of the Cleveland Federal Reserve Section 20 Auditor Roundtable and the Affiliation of Mortgage Banking Auditors. He holds an MBA from Fordham University and an undergraduate degree from Providence College.
